In Loving Memory of My Hero, Brady

Brady was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) on Tuesday, December 10th, 2013. He was only 8 years old at the time. On Friday, December 13th, 2013, Brady's front left leg was amputated.

We then started the cancer journey with 6 rounds of chemotherapy followed by a year of oral chemotherapy pills.

Brady was brave and strong during the whole thing. He looked forward to his appointments because he got so much attention from everyone. He loved attention. He always brought his beloved orange ball with him where ever he went.

With only a few minor hiccups, Brady breezed through cancer treatments and there was no sign of spread anywhere as of October 13th, 2015.

November 2015, Brady started having trouble walking. Trips to the vet and chiropractor weren't helping and no one seems to know why he was having trouble. I took him to UW Veterinary Hospital in Madison, where a spinal x-ray revealed a very aggressive bone tumor in his upper spine. Brady declined rapidly and needed a sling to walk leaving UW. There was nothing more that could be done. Brady would never walk again and was in a lot of pain.

December 3rd, 2015 I had to say goodbye to my brave warrior, my hero, the love of my life. I had to let him go. It was the hardest and worst day of my life.

Brady battled cancer for 2 years. Most don't get that kind of time. He was always happy. ALWAYS. He was brave, unwaivering, stoic and loving.

Brady, Mommy and Ginger miss you so much. You touched lives across the globe. We love you forever!
